This week, Microsoft introduced a new Surface Laptop for Business. has brought a new Surface Laptop for Business. The line comes with 13-inch, 13.8-inch, and 15-inch models, all powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips. Microsoft positions these machines as secure, AI-ready PCs designed for organizations seeking greater control over sensitive data.
Where does that control come from, you might ask? One of the most interesting features found in Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop for Business line is the 13.8-inch model’s integrated privacy screen, which can be toggled on and off with a dedicated key. The feature is similar to that found on Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, which dramatically narrows the screen’s viewing angles to prevent over-the-shoulder peeks. Though the Surface Laptop for Business version isn’t quite as powerful as the S26 Ultra’s, Engadget reports that the screen becomes unreadable at a 40-degree angle—enough to make it difficult for the person sitting next to you on a bus or plane to read your stuff. IT administrators can also direct how the filter is implemented on an organization’s machines, ensuring limited access to sensitive on-screen data in public environments.
The laptops also come with new touchpad haptics. The touchpad responds in under 50 milliseconds and provides unique vibration patterns when users snap objects to guides or approach important UI elements, such as the Close button. Microsoft says this can help reduce accidental clicks and build a consistent tactile language across Windows and third‑party apps.
The company also highlights the laptops’ recycled aluminum enclosures, more repairable designs, and energy efficiency that exceeds ENERGY STAR baselines, positioning Surface Laptop for Business as a sustainable and privacy-friendly option for corporate fleets.
